LYMEC and ALDE Party are launching a campaign on Youth Unemployment beginning in April 2013 to raise awareness among European Union governments about the growing problem of youth unemployment.
The youth unemployment rate in the EU-27 was around twice as high as the rate for the total population throughout the last decade. The EU-27 youth unemployment rate has been systematically higher since early 2008 than in the euro area in the previous 8 years. Since mid 2010 the youth unemployment rate started to increase more strongly and now the percentage rate in some countries has reached an alarming 50%.
During the ALDE Congress in Dublin at end of last year, LYMEC and Fianna Fail have proposed a resolution on youth unemployment. This was passed and now constitutes an official view of ALDE Party. We would like to communicate our ideas to the national Governments of EU countries and Croatia. In order to do that we need your help!
We would kindly ask you to help us in translating the resolution, which is only 2 pages long, to your language so we could feature it on our web site which will be launched on 1st of April. Following the launch on our web site, we will launch an innovative method of decision making which will allow you and your members to propose policies and solutions to youth unemployment. The winner of this contest will be paid travel costs and stay in Dublin, Ireland on May 28th, where you will be able to participate in a debate between high profile speakers on topic of youth unemployment.
Shortly after this conference in Dublin, which will be organised as a webinar and streamed over our channels, the participating organisations will approach their local and national Governments and send them the resolution asking the Governments to address the youth unemployment in their regions and countries.
If your organisation is interested to join us on this international campaign please send us a mail to firstname.lastname@example.org by 25th of March!
