Annual ALDE Summer Academy in cooperation with European Liberal Youth – LYMEC and Young Democrats for Europe – YDE will take place in the European Parliament in Brussels from 29th June to 1st of July.
The topic of this year’s Academy is the future of the EU energy policy in light of the recent events in Japan. How should European Union proceed in coming years with the growing problem of energy supply to its citizens, taking into account current events and the fact that energy made in the nuclear reactor makes 14.2 % of the total energy in our power grids and that 14 out of 27 member states have nuclear reactors? Is there future for the nuclear reactors in European Union or does the future lie in renewable energy sources. These are the questions we will try to answer on the Summer Academy with inputs from speakers of different background and different points of view.
Total number of participants is 80 out of which 60 are delegates of LYMEC and 20 as delegates of YDE. Depending on membership, interested participants should contact directly their respective organisations (LYMEC or YDE) to apply for these events.
Deadline for applications is 20th of May.
Travel refunds
- All participants travelling from within the EU will be reimbursed for their travel for up to 300 EUR
- All participants travelling from outside the EU will be reimbursed for their travel for up to 400 EUR
- Reimbursement will be organised by bank transfer, no cash reimbursement will be possible
- Reimbursement will take place once ALL of the original receipts, boarding passes, invoices are sent to ALDE group (including the boarding pass for the return flight from Brussels)
- Train tickets (2nd class) for distance less than 500 km.
- Car costs are reimbursed according the cost of a 2nd class train ticket.
- Remember that only local public transport (tram, bus train) – (NOT TAXI) is refunded.
Participation fee
