Last week the LYMEC Bureau met with the other European political youth organizations under the umbrella of the European Youth Forum. Issues discussed included the sovereign debt crisis as well as the situation in Hungary.

 

LYMEC President Alexander Plahr commented: “As expected, the political right agreed with us on economic issues while the political left agreed with us when it came to civil liberties. This once more showed that only the liberals put the freedom of the individual at the core of their policies in ever area. This is what makes us unique and this is why we are the only ones who do not try to patronize citizens in one area or the other.”

 

The political youth organizations furthermore discussed about the future of European funding of political activities in Europe.
