Winning in 2024: Uniting young liberal candidates!

On 10th of January 2024, only two MEP's were the age of 30 !

While, as liberals, we believe that a member of parliament doesn't need to be the exact same age or coming from the exact same background to represent the interests of someone, we truly believe that a parliament needs to represent the diversity of a society. That is why LYMEC has been campaigning for years for a better representation of young people in the European institutions.

We want to make sure that the next European Parliament mandate has more youth voices and therefore support our young candidates all over Europe to make that happen.

With the European Parliament elections approaching, LYMEC wants to showcase its members that will be running in the elections and support them in their campaigning efforts.

That is why, on the Thursday, 2nd of May 2024 at 18:30 pm (Brussels time) we will organize an online networking event for the candidates to meet, share their respective journey, best practices and discuss potential cooperation but also about the importance of youth representation in this campaigning period.

What we are looking for:

  • Official candidates for the European Parliament elections 2024 from an ALDE Party or LYMEC affiliated member party;
  • Confirmed on the list at the time of the registration;
  • Aged between 18-35 years old.

During the selection process, we will ensure fair regional and gender representation between the selected candidates. We reserve the right for LYMEC to limit participation based on regional diversity.

This event is restricted to confirmed candidates for 2024 European Parliament elections only.
