Ioana Abaseaca
IFLRY Representative
Ioana Abaseaca is a policy and project officer, working with members of the Union Save Romania parliamentary group. She holds a joint masters’ degree in political science from Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales de Paris and the University of Bucharest. In the past 3 years, she worked on the proposal of a comprehensive administrative-territorial reform in Romania, where data was gathered and analyzed from +1,000 city halls. Adjacently, she also worked on policy related to urbanism, sustainable development, and public administration. Ioana describes herself as someone who is passionate about policy and the way it can be used to create a better future.
Ioana was also one of the founders of USR Tineret and its first international officer. In this capacity, she oversaw the affiliation of the organisation to LYMEC and IFLRY, with a strong belief that like-minded people are more powerful when they work together. Before politics, she was involved in other civic initiatives and NGOs. She helped Erasmus+ students adapt to Bucharest university lifestyle, she was involved in her Faculty’s student life, writing articles, organizing conferences etc. She was also a recipient of a Romanian merit scholarship and a French government scholarship.
