This weekend, from the 28 to 30 of June, young Liberals from across Europe gathered in Berlin. During two days, they met in the Walter Scheel Zentrum, at the Thomas Dehner Haus, headquarters of FDP, to discuss the implications of ICT on politics.
Under the title Cyberpolitics – Forstering Freedom and Good Governance, multiple sessions touched such hot topics as cybersecurity (with Jimmy Schulz, FDP Member of the Bundestag), data privacy, copyright and creative commons or the role of social media in the Arab Spring (with Dr. Ronald Meinardus, from the Friedrich Naumann Foundation) and in the current protests in Turkey.
This event, directed essentially to LYMEC individual members, also touched upon LYMEC’s White paper on the reform of the EU (https://www.lymec.eu/lymec-white-paper) and on the past, present and future of the Individual Member’s Section.
