About:
Lena has been involved in the international liberal community for the last eight years. The liberal defense of the rule of law and democracy brought Lena into the liberal family as an Intern for the International Federation of Liberal Youth.
Lena is a social liberal and is passionate about minority protection and gender equality. Lena wants to target structures that prevent women from equal opportunities to the labour market and actively promote women as leaders and entrepreneurs. Lena is currently working as the Secretary General of the Youth League of the Finnish Norden Association and part-time as a Political Secretary to the Center Group in the Nordic Council.
In the LYMEC Bureau, Lena’s primary responsibilities as the Policy Officer is to further the adopted policies, guide the LYMEC policy development on CAP and gender issues. Lena is also involved in creating a mentorship program in LYMEC.
Lena previously served as the international officer of Svensk Ungdom from Finland and as an assistant to MP in the Finnish Parliament. She is a member of Svensk Ungdom from Finland (SU) as well as of the Swedish People’s Party (SPP). Lena is currently active in the international committee of SPP and municipal policy-making in her home municipality.
Lena graduated as a Bachelor of Social Sciences (Political Science) in 2010 and as a Master of Business in 2013 (Organisation and Management). She has also studied at Kyung Hee University in the Republic of Korea and worked in India and Kenya within the field of development cooperation.
