ELF seminar: "Building the Best"

LYMEC is excited to present the LYMEC Mentorship Programme: Building the Best!

LYMEC is providing its members with the unique opportunity to develop skills with some of the great names of liberal politics in Europe. During five months mentees will learn to reflect on their individual goals as young politicians and receive advice from their personal mentors. The mentees and mentors are intended to come from different European countries. The programme is launched in cooperation with the European Liberal Forum on November 10-11, 2017 with in-person sessions in Brussels, Belgium. The pairs of mentees and mentors then meet up a total of four times (either in person or online) to discuss and shape the path of the young politician. At the LYMEC Spring Congress 2018 results and sentiments from the programme will be presented.

Who are the mentors?

We are very excited to having managed to engage prominent liberals from across Europe to commit to our programme as mentors. The mentors include MEP's, MP's and former ministers. The mentors will be presented on our social media channels leading up to the event.

Who is this for?

The LYMEC Mentorship Programme: Building the Best is intended for young aspiring European politicians. We are looking to support young persons who have already stood in elections or had a prominent role in their respective party or youth organisation and who intend to stand in coming elections. We are looking for persons who are recognised in their own organisation and who have big plans for their political future. A limited amount of participants will be accepted for the programme.

How to apply?

Each mentee applicant for the program has to submit a Letter of Motivation and a (political) CV. Each Member Organization can nominate one mentee applicant for the Programme and each Individual Member of LYMEC has the opportunity to apply. Only the International Officer of the respective Member Organisation can nominate an applicant for the programme. Applications received directly from the (MO) applicants will not be considered. Individual Members of LYMEC can apply for the programme, but are required to refer to a person from a party organisation that can give proof of the applicant's background in the organisation. We have extended the deadline and applications will now be accepted until October 9, 23:59 CET. Applications are registered through the website, and the supporting documents are to be sent to the Mentorship Programme Coordinator, Lena Höglund ([email protected]).

What does it cost?

Participation in the programme is free. ELF and LYMEC will cover the accommodation and meals during the event in November, and offer a (partial) travel reimbursement for participants. Possible in-person meetings with the mentor later on have to be covered by the participants themselves.

We look forward to supporting the coming European liberal leaders with no lesser ambition than Building the Best!
