European Liber al parties and liberal youth organisations can and should lead by example on gender equality. The Alliance Of Her Academy is a powerful way we do th is and the program has proven results – with a large network of empowere d liberal women now having a real impact across European politics. With th ree sessions spread out across an entire year\, participants benefit from mentoring and networking opportunities and a comprehensive package of cont ent covering the essential elements to succeeding in political life. Howev er our academy also aims to create an experience where participants have t he time and space for self-reflection in an environment bursting with oppo rtunities for personal development\, focus and reflection. The youth class will be joined by liberal women in politics between the age of 18-30. Cla ss members will experience sessions tailored to the particular needs and e xperiences of young people active in European politics\, including guest s peakers\, social activities and content. We aim to keep each class to no m ore than 20 participants. There are some important eligibility criteria th at must be carefully understood by candidates and their sponsoring party b efore applying. The ALDE party is not able to fully fund candidates for th e class of 2022 who are 1) in a publicly elected office during the class o f 2022\; and/or 2) will run for political office between January 27\, 2022 and November 27 2023 (that is 12 months after the final session). Candida tes will need to sign a declaration indicating they adhere to the above cr iteria. If their circumstances change\, their sponsoring party will need t o co-fund their participation.
