<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>“LYMEC Hackathon: Youth Unemployment” is a practical weekend designed to provide participants with the right mindset, tools and confidence needed to see, assess and shape opportunities of launching new projects and ventures. </strong></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>You’ll be guided through a process of creating solutions to self-defined problems in an agile method, where testing the problems and validating solutions is crucial.</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">This program features several speakers who collaborate to create an intensive hands-on weekend learning experience.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The structure of the course favours teamwork, practical experience and one-on-one mentoring, aiming for all shared know-how to be applicable directly to projects being worked on to ingrain new knowledge.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>The bootcamp is aimed at LYMEC members with experience in politics, design, marketing, business, PR or journalism. The camp also welcomes participants from other disciplines, especially those who bring along with them novel ideas and an entrepreneurial can-do attitude.</strong> Every participant will be able to pitch an idea for the camp and/or join an idea one likes the most. The theme is youth unemployment, so having insight into your organisation's policies (if applicable) in the area is beneficial.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">This will be LYMEC’s first time to attempt using the hackathon model for crafting working solutions to European problems. We’ll modify the <a href="https://leanstack.com/leancanvas" target="_blank">Lean Canvas</a> to structure the process.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Once you’ve learned the process, you’ll be able to take this back to your member organisation and help create a culture of innovation.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">There will be more suggestions for preparation ahead of the event.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">There is no participation fee for this event, but LYMEC reserves the right to apply a late cancellation and no-show fee to avoid unnecessary expenses for people who do not show up. Meals and accommodation are included in the event, but unfortunately there will be no travel refunds. <strong>Deadline for registrations is Sunday, May 21st.</strong></p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">NB: For insurance reasons we will not accept participants under the age of 18.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">1) Do you have any experience in PR, marketing, lobbying, project management, policy implementation or any other area you think would be useful during the weekend? Please elaborate (it is ok if you don't have experience as long as you're willing to learn. The weekend will be about personal development and implementation as well).</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">2) Are you able to use online resources to learn new skills over a short period of time? Which of the above listed skills would you be able to improve ahead of the hackathon?</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">3) Will you come to the hackathon with an idea of your own on how to tackle youth unemployment, or would you seek to join a team around someone else's idea? (Both are ideal)</p>
