The European Liberal Youth (LYMEC) welcomes the non-binding motion on Palestine recognition which got overwhelming support of the European parliament today. President Vedrana Gujic points out: “Today the EU is sending a strong message that the two-state solution is the only sustainable solution for resolving the conflict between Israel and Palestine. It is also evident that the two-state solution should go hand in hand with the advanced and dedicated peace negotiations.”
LYMEC calls the EU and all EU member states to support and encourage the advancement of the peace talks beetween Israel and Palestine. Gujic stresses: “All EU member states should support the peace negotiations and put pressure on both sides to grant peace, safety, security, freedoms and basic human rights to all of its citizens. Bringing peace to this part of the world is a duty of both European and international community.”
