As one of the IMS delegates unfortunately resigned from their position, and the resignation happened within the first two-thirds of the mandate, the LYMEC statutes call for by-elections to be held.

Since the Autumn Congress is quickly approaching, we hereby announce by-elections to be held on 14-17 September to fill the vacant position as IMS delegate. We would therefore also like to open the call for candidacies for the position.

Deadline for applications is Saturday, 8 September, 12 pm (noon) CEST. To apply, please send the following materials to office(at)lymec.eu:

  • A motivation letter
  • Your CV
  • A picture (minimum 300*300 pixels)
  • A short (max 50 word) motivation for the website

All candidates will be presented on an election website that will open on September 9th. The candidacies will also be presented in an email to all individual members, and an online debate between candidates will take place between September 9 and 13 (exact date tbc after deadline for candidacies)

The IMS delegates represent the individual members at LYMEC congress, but they also coordinate IMS activities (in cooperation with the LYMEC Bureau). The delegates are also tasked with answering questions from current or potential members with regards to both LYMEC and IMS, so as to provide a better understanding of what LYMEC and the IMS are, what they do, and what they stand for.

Please keep in mind that being an IMS delegate is a serious commitment and you will have responsibilities. As there is only one congress left this year, we strongly encourage people to only apply if you certainly can attend the congress on 12-14 October in Vilnius, Lithuania. Please double-check your duties in our IMS Internal Rules.

The elections will run from Friday, 14th September noon until Monday, 17th September noon Brussels time. The results will be announced on 17 September in the afternoon.

The elections will be conducted online, in accordance with the statutes of the organisation. A separate email with instructions regarding the voting will be sent in due time. All Individual Members who have paid their membership fee by 3 September are eligible to run and vote in the elections. If you are unsure about the status of your membership, contact the Secretary General (office(at)lymec.eu).

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact the Secretary General, or one of the current delegates Benjamin and Marina (ims(at)lymec.eu).
