As Bàlint Gyévai will start as interim Secretary General he has resigned from his position as IMS delegate. Since the resignation happened within the first two-thirds of the mandate, the LYMEC statutes call for by-elections to be held.

Since the Autumn Congress is approaching, we hereby announce by-elections to be held on 27-30 July to fill the vacant position as IMS delegate. We would therefore also like to open the call for candidacies for the position.

Deadline for applications is Friday, 12 July, 12 pm (noon) Brussels time (CEST). To apply, please send the following materials to office(at)lymec.eu:

  • A motivation letter
  • Your CV
  • A picture (minimum 300*300 pixels)
  • A short (max 50 word) motivation for the website

NB: The CVs will be available on the LYMEC webpage for the duration of the elections, so please refrain from including personal data such as address, phone number etc.

All candidates will be presented on an election website that will open by July 15th. The candidacies will also be presented in an email to all individual members, and an online debate between candidates will take place between July 15 and 25 (exact date tbc after deadline for candidacies).

The tasks and duties of the IMS delegates are to represent the Individual Members at the statutory meetings of LYMEC, to coordinate the IMS input at these meetings: resolutions, motions and amendments, and to liaise with the Steering Committee.

Please keep in mind that being an IMS delegate is a serious commitment and you will have responsibilities. As there is only one congress left this year, we strongly encourage people to only apply if you certainly can attend the congress on 8-10 November in London, United Kingdom. Please double-check your duties in our IMS Internal Rules.

The elections will run from Saturday, 27th July noon until Tuesday, 30th July noon (Brussels time). The results will be announced on 30th July in the afternoon.

The elections will be conducted online, in accordance with the statutes of the organisation. A separate email with instructions regarding the voting will be sent in due time. All Individual Members who have paid their membership fee by 12 July are eligible to run and vote in the elections. If you are unsure about the status of your membership, contact the Secretary General (office(at)lymec.eu).

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact the Secretary General, or one of the current delegates Tiago and Jordi (imsdelegates(at)lymec.eu).
