European Youth Event - CANCELLED

CANCELLED due to the COVID-19 (Coronavirus)    Dear young liberals, Eager to become a part of the largest biannual youth event hosted by European Parliament? Enthusiastic to meet the EU’s top politicians and join other committed young European in various discussion formats, workshops, plenaries, and cultural activities? Excited to discuss digital participation, youth policies, and ideas for a better Europe? And this all in a joint exchange experience with thousands of other participants from all over EU? We are looking for motivated and active young liberals to join our team at the next European Youth Event (EYE). The EYE is a major pan-European event organised by the European Parliament every second year in Strasbourg, the heart of European democracy. Since 2014, it has gathered thousands of young people from all over Europe to participate in workshops, plenaries, encounters, cultural activities and many ideas for a better Europe. This year’s edition will take place over two full days on 29-30 May 2020 under the topic “The Future is now” in Strasbourg! For the first time, young liberals will have their own team under the ELF (European Liberal Forum) umbrella. To give you some ideas, this is what past editions of the EYE looked like. Requirements for participation We hereby open the call for applications to join the ELF group. We will be selecting 10 motivated participants aged between 18 and 30 years. 2 nights accommodation in Strasbourg (Thursday to Saturday, 28-30 May) will be provided and partial travel reimbursements will be available upon request. The selected participants will be expected to arrive in Strasbourg on the evening of Thursday, 28 May, at the latest, and stay until Saturday, 30 May. On Friday morning, 29 May, our liberal group will take part in an eDemocracy workshop, discuss the importance of active citizenship, and share experiences for eParticipation projects. As a kick-off for our liberal group, we invite you to join this interactive ELF session on formal and informal instruments of civic participation. It will take place before the official opening of the EYE on Friday 29 May from 10.00 -12.00. You will later join the EYE as  registered participants and choose the programme sessions of your interest. Applications are closed now! We will make the selection of the participants as soon as possible and revert to all applicants. Please do not make any travel reservations until you receive an official confirmation of your application. We are looking forward to receiving your applications!
