Meet our Young Liberal Candidates - ten days to go!

With only ten days remaining until the election, our spotlight this week highlights exceptional young liberal candidates from Finland, the Netherlands, Germany, and Denmark. These dynamic individuals exemplify why youth matters in politics and are poised to make significant contributions to their communities and beyond.

Meet Julia Ståhle:

Julia is a dedicated Social Policy Advisor and a Political Science student at the University of Helsinki. Currently residing in Espoo with her child, she enjoys taking walks in the nearby woods during her free time. She is passionate about advancing AI and technology, promoting sustainability, and advocating for equality in all spheres of life. You will see her as a candidate on the electoral list of the Swedish People's Party of Finland.

Meet Hendri Nortier:

Hendri's political passions lie in robust finances and sustainable agriculture. Unity is key in facing financial challenges and ensuring our agricultural sector thrives. By working together, the EU can create a resilient economy and guarantee food security for all its members. Hendri is dedicated to addressing these crucial issues as a candidate for D66 in The Netherlands, proudly standing on spot 14.

Meet Mirwais Wafa:

Mirwais is a candidate for the European Parliament from the Free Democratic Party of Germany. He is one of the three front runners for the European Parliament in the state of Baden-Württemberg and is holding spot 24 on the federal list of the FDP Germany for the European elections. He is running for the EU Parliament because Europe is facing major challenges. In the past years under Ursula von der Leyen, much has been left undone and too much has been postponed. In addition to his political engagement, Mirwais is the co-founder and chairman of the UNESCO Global Youth Community.

Meet Asmus Knigge Vilster:

In politics, size often matters. This is precisely why the EU must lead the charge in the green transition. It is also why the EU must stand united against Putin's aggression. And it is why the EU needs to collectively shoulder the responsibility for those fleeing desperate fates. Asmus is passionate about tackling those issues as a young European leader, running on spot 17 for Radikal Venstre in Denmark.
