More pride, less prejudice!
Schools should be a safe, welcoming space to grow each young persons self identity and give youth the space they vitally need to develop empathy, and inclusion skills, as part of a holistic and wellbeing led approach to education. Censorship in education settings is not an approach Europeans should tolerate, and limits the scope of what can be achieved for young people in their most formative years. The current case of Bulgaria shows again that LGBTQ+ rights are under pressure all across Europe.
Now, more than ever, we must stand united against discrimination and fight for the freedom to be who we are, unapologetically. Let’s amplify the voices demanding justice and ensure that no one is silenced - in or outside of schools.
