About the organisers:

The Youth Department is part of the Directorate of Democratic Participation within the Directorate General of Democracy(“DGII”) of the Council of Europe. The Department elaborates guidelines, programmes and legal instruments for the development of coherent and effective youth policies at local, national and European levels. It provides funding and educational support for international youth activities aiming to promote youth citizenship, youth mobility and the values of human rights, democracy and cultural pluralism. It seeks to bring together and disseminate expertise and knowledge about the life situations, aspirations and ways of expression of young Europeans.

African Caribbean and Pacific Young Professionals Network (ACP YPN) provides a platform for young people to play an active role in policy-making processes at the national, regional and international levels (inspired by the legally binding commitments of the EU and the ACP group of states on youth cooperation - Article 26, ACP-EU Cotonou Partnership Agreement). ACP YPN aims to assure that all young professionals can benefit from equality of opportunity by promoting and facilitating the integration of the perspectives of ACP and EU youth in several key dialogues such as the European Development Days, UNESCO, the Youth Forum at the EU-ACP Joint Parliamentary Assembly, the EU-Cariforum Joint Consultative Committee, and the African Union Youth Advisory Board.
