At our upcoming 2024 LYMEC Autumn Congress in Warsaw, Poland, you will elect 9 representatives (+ the Policy Officer of LYMEC) to bring LYMEC's ideas and proposals to the next ALDE Party Congress in 2025.

Alicja Jakimko
My name is Alicja and I’m a 21-year-old liberal from Poland. I am the Vice President of Nowoczesna Youth. I am a law student, currently in my third year, at the University of Warsaw. My passions are women’s rights, strengthening the rule of law and green liberalism.
Dan Sandu
My name is Dan and I am a 25-year-old liberal from Romania. I hold a bachelor’s degree in computer science and a master’s degree in International Conflict & Security with Political Communication. My postgraduate research was focused primarily on the war in Ukraine. Starting 2021, I have been an active member of USR and USR Tineret, currently serving on the county board for the mother organisation, as well as being a chapter president for the youth organisation. I am active in the International Relations department of USR Tineret and I have also previously been part of LYMEC’s Security & Cyber workgroup.
David Grasveld
I am David Grasveld, 25 years old, of German and Dutch origins. Currently I am the international officer of LHG and have previously been involved in the international committee of JuLis. My thorough interest in foreign and security policy led me to obtain an undergraduate degree in International Relations, for which I was granted a scholarship by FNF, and I subsequently pursued a second degree in Political Philosophy. In my free time, I like to produce and listen to electronic music, explore foreign countries, and hold in-depth conversations with friends and strangers alike.
Emma Kruusmäe
Hi, I’m Emma from Estonia. For the past eight years, I have been an advocate for youth participation at both local and national levels. This work has led me to a career in politics, where I currently serve as an advisor in the Estonian Parliament to the Prime Minister’s party, the Estonian Reform Party, which has the largest faction in the parliament. Additionally, I advise the Reform Party's faction on social media in the Tallinn City Council, where we are the biggest coalition partner.
Fabian Grepper
My name is Fabian Grepper, I’m a 25-year-old history student from Switzerland. My main interests are infrastructure policy, environmental politics, and disabled rights. My interest in foreign policy also overlaps with my interest in foreign cultures and travel. I’m the president of my local chapter of my party and a delegate to the national congress for over three years now as well as I’m a fix part of the international team of Jungfreisinnige and since this year one of the International Officer.
Guido von Backer
Guido is a staunch Liberal who has been active in the JOVD for over 10 years and in LYMEC for over 2 years. He has always had a strong motivation to help the Liberal move ahead. Doing so, he helped to fully rewrite the LYMEC's Electoral Manifesto last year. He mostly has an affinity with the topics of education, finance and taxes
Joy Kamel
Joy Kamel is the Political Secretary of Jeunes MR in Brussels and a former International Officer for the Fédération des Étudiants Libéraux. She has experience in international relations, youth politics, and event management, including serving as Vice-President of the International Commission of Jeunes MR. With a background in Political Science from the Université Libre de Bruxelles, she has extensive experience in youth politics and international relations. A former national swimmer, Joy represented Belgium at the highest level in international competitions.
Maarten Tollenaar
I'm a 26 year old European Law Master level student. I have been engaged in youth politics for 8 years now; with a focus on Europe from the start. I've served as the Jonge Democraten International Officer for the past 3 years, and have attended multiple ALDE congresses in the past.
Marius Gobet
I am the current IO for the Young Green Liberals Switzerland, having served in that role since Fall 2022. I would be excited to represent LYMEC at this important function. Currently, I am working on a foreign posting in the United States.
Martina Barrés Sabartés
I have a bachelor's degree in International Relations and I am currently in my final year of Law school. I am passionate about International Law, conflict resolution and Foreign Affairs. I have been an active member in JNC since 2020 and I am currently serving the national board as International Officer. In addition, I am motivated, organized, and a team player with great communication skills
Patriks Jānis Pudāns
I am 21 years old and I live in Riga. I got involved in politics in 2020 when I became a member of the “For! Youth” Since then I have been active in both the youth wing and the party “Movement For!” and other organizations to have a broader understanding of topics about politics, economy, and policy making. Furthermore, I am studying for a bachelor's degree in International economics and commercial diplomacy at the University of Latvia and since June 2023 I have been an International officer of “For! Youth”.
Rowan Fitton
As Co-International Officer for the Young Liberals, Rowan has been an experienced and active participant in LYMEC for many years. As a dedicated liberal from Northern England, he believes liberal ideas are the solution to regional inequality right across Europe. He is also deeply passionate about understanding global conflicts and paths to sustainable peace; holding a masters degree in conflict prevention and peacebuilding.
Silvia Fernandez
I am an Individual Member with several years of experience in ALDE and a keen interest in youth representation in politics. I have previously served as an HoD and SG for JCS, and ALDE IMs Delegate, and most recently as LYMEC Delegate in Brussels and Estoril (2024).
Tommy Monahan
Tommy Monahan is the current International Officer for Alliance Youth. Hailing from Northern Ireland but now living in Brussels where he works in the private sector, he has considerable previous experience in the field of politics and advocacy with a particular interest in youth engagement, peace and reconciliation, and LGBTI rights. He is taking part in the LYMEC Young Changemakers' Academy (Class of 2024) and is a company director at the Young European Movement (JEF-UK)
