The network consists of member organisations (MO) and individual members (IM). LYMEC has two types of member organisations: full members and associate members, differing in levels of rights and duties inside the organisation. LYMEC was the first pan-European political organisation to institute the Individual Membership in 1997. Individuals can become members, thus being able to participate in our events, activities and put forward resolutions.
There are obstacles to youth participation, but there are also opportunities. We need to use these opportunities and be politically present. We will not let anyone else take the decisions for us! 👊🏽
After witnessing or experiencing online #HateSpeech, 51% of young women, and 42 % of young men, hesitate to engage in debates online.
On this #InternationalYouthDay we want to highlight the obstacles to youth participation. Online hate speech is one of them.
Happy International Youth Day! ✊🏾
Today we celebrate the amazing, powerful youth. At the same time we remember the huge obstacles to youth participation that still need to be tackled! 💪🏽
