Yesterday, the European Parliament adopted Renew Europe's demand to create transnational lists in the EP elections. LYMEC has been working for transnational lists for years. The possibility to vote for a candidate in another EU country would improve European democracy and strengthen the European identity.
The European Parliament also adopted the idea to lower the voting age to 16 in the EP elections. Finally!
All EU member states still need to accept these proposals. We're hoping for a strong support from the EU council!
