Hear me out, take me in! - Online activity
Dear liberal friends, LYMEC is organising an online activity on diversity and inclusion under the name “Hear me out, take me in!” with the Youth Department of the Council of Europe on Monday 29 June 2020 and Tuesday 30 June 2020 online webinar from 14 h till 18 h CEST (Brussels time) each day. We are hereby opening the call for participants from our member organisations as well as individual members of LYMEC to attend this training. We are looking for actors of change, multipliers that are leading change in their respective organisations. We are also targeting persons involved in communications and community leaders in their organisations. The main objective of the online seminar is to communicate on diversity. In fact, open up and be more inclusive to new participants as a youth organisation. We therefore count on participants to act as multipliers to disseminate their learnings and impact on their respective communities. This application is open to all interested representatives not only people specialized in minority and diversity issues. We would like to include diverse perspectives in the training. APPLICATIONS ARE CLOSED FOR THIS EVENT. Accepted participants will be notified by 12th of June 2020 the latest. The activity was originally planned as a study session in cooperation with the Council of Europe’s Youth Department (YD), set to take place in the European Youth Centre in Strasbourg, France. Due to the COVID-19 crisis, the activity has now been replaced by an online activity consisting of four elements in order to introduce concepts, learning material, but also enable experience sharing and discussion. The four elements of participation are:
- Getting to know the concepts: a 10-day-Moodle preparatory course, open on June 12 and to be completed by June 26;
- Diversity’s challenges: first webinar on June 29 focuses on challenges to political participation for all young people;
- Good practices to promote political youth participation: The second webinar on June 30 discusses good practices and concrete actions for promoting participation for all;
- Follow-up actions: The two webinars and the activity as a whole will end with a second course on Moodle for feedback and follow-up open from July 1 to July 12.
The language of the activity is English and unfortunately there will not be any options for translation ahead and during the activity. The activity will be organised in cooperation with the Council of Europe’s Youth Department (YD). Participants are offered a certificate for participating in the activity. Events organised by European Liberal Youth (LYMEC) may be audio- and video-recorded as well as web-streamed. A photographer and/or a cameraman, contracted by LYMEC, may have access to the meeting room in order to take pictures and videos for communication and publication purposes.
