LYMEC is opening a call for interested members to join the European Youth Forum (YFJ) delegation at its upcoming statutory meetings in 2027, including the General Assembly and Council of Members.

The selected delegate will join the LYMEC Advocacy and Outreach Officer as an additional LYMEC representative at the YFJ statutory meetings taking place in 2027. Dates and locations are still to be confirmed.

Please apply by September 30th 2026 EOB

What will the delegate do?

As a LYMEC delegate, you will contribute to representing LYMEC within the European Youth Forum and actively participate in its democratic and policy-making processes.

The role will include:

    • Participating actively in statutory meetings, including plenary discussions, working sessions and votes;
    • Representing LYMEC's positions and priorities in discussions with other European youth organisations;
    • Following and contributing to policy discussions and motions relevant to young people and youth organisations across Europe;
    • Preparing for meetings in coordination with the LYMEC Secretariat, including reviewing agendas, policy documents and proposals ahead of each meeting;
    • Engaging with other YFJ member organisations, building contacts and identifying opportunities for cooperation and joint advocacy;
    • Providing feedback to LYMEC following statutory meetings, including relevant developments, decisions and opportunities for further engagement;
    • Supporting LYMEC's broader engagement with the European Youth Forum and contributing to strengthening our visibility and influence within the platform.

The European Youth Forum is a member-driven organisation where member organisations have a central role in shaping its policy guidelines, strategic priorities, work plan and other key decisions. Delegates are therefore expected not only to attend meetings, but to actively contribute to discussions and ensure that LYMEC's perspective is effectively represented.

Who are we looking for?

Previous knowledge or experience with the European Youth Forum and its structures and working methods would be considered an asset.

Experience or knowledge of the Advisory Council on Youth of the Council of Europe would also be considered a plus, particularly given the close links between European youth policy and youth representation structures.

We are particularly looking for someone who is:

    • A LYMEC member;
    • Between 18 and 35 years old;
    • Available and committed to participating in the upcoming YFJ statutory meetings in 2027;
    • Comfortable participating in discussions and working in English;
    • Willing to actively represent LYMEC and engage with other youth organisations.

Support from LYMEC

You do not need to be an expert on the European Youth Forum to apply.

Following the selection, the delegate will receive dedicated preparation and training from LYMEC to familiarise them with the structures, decision-making processes, policy work and current priorities of the European Youth Forum.

The selected delegate will also work closely with the LYMEC Advocacy and Outreach Officer and Secretariat before and during the meetings to ensure effective coordination and representation.

Apply

If you are interested in representing LYMEC within the European Youth Forum and contributing to European youth policy and advocacy, please register your interest by completing the form below.
