About the Role

As Project Officer, you will work in close collaboration with the Secretary General, the Communication Assistant, and the elected Bureau of LYMEC. You will support the successful implementation of LYMEC’s activities and contribute to our mission of empowering young liberals across Europe.

This role includes leading the coordination of events and trainings, contributing to project grant applications, and liaising with key liberal partners such as the RENEW Europe Group in the European Parliament, the ALDE Party, the European Liberal Forum, and others.

The position requires availability for travel within Europe and the flexibility to adapt to a varied work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to drafting and submitting grant applications and deliverables, especially for Erasmus+.
  • Take the lead on organising LYMEC’s events and training with partners.
  • Maintain relations and communications with partner organisations and stakeholders.
  • Support the planning and delivery of LYMEC’s biannual Congresses and Digital Assembly.
  • Assist the Secretary General with administrative and operational tasks.
  • Provide support to Bureau members and contribute to ongoing campaigns and youth engagement initiatives.
  • Management of the Individual Members Section of the Organisation (Relations with the Steering Committee, Delegates, and onboarding of new Members).

Who We’re Looking For

  • Strong interest in European affairs, liberal politics, and youth engagement.
  • Affinity with liberal values.
  • Experience or studies in project management, European studies, political science, or related fields.
  • Excellent written and spoken English (knowledge of other European languages is an asset).
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Willingness to travel for work-related events and training, including occasional weekends (travel costs covered by LYMEC); weekend working days will be compensated with time off during the week.
  • A team player attitude, with a strong wish to learn and improve.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • A previous work experience in project management and management of an Erasmus+ programme will be considered an asset.

What We Offer

  • A 1-year contract, with the possibility of extension
  • A competitive salary depending on experience.
  • A unique opportunity to work in a dynamic international team within a political organisation.
  • Hands-on experience in European policy-making, with exposure to high-level decision-making processes and actors.
  • Networking opportunities across the European Liberal political scene.
