We have released a joint statement alongside Bundesverband Liberaler Hochschulgruppen and Junge Liberale following the attack on Berlin Pride 25.7.2026.
As young liberals, we call on European leaders and governments to address, publicly and with conviction, the reality which Saturday’s heinous attack so starkly shows – Progress has not just slowed in recent years, it has begun to be turned back. The threats against our community from the far right and religious fundamentalism are by no means a thing of the past.
LYMEC will always stand with our LGBTQ+ brothers, sisters, and siblings. We will continue to strive to create the better, safer, and more just society that our European values promise, in which everyone can live freely and openly, regardless of how they identify or who they love.
