In 2026, LYMEC celebrates its 50th anniversary, a milestone marking five decades of liberal youth shaping Europe. To celebrate, we are launching a design contest to create our official anniversary merchandise. We invite members, alumni, and the wider liberal youth community to take part and help us design the next chapter.
The Challenge
Create a design for LYMEC’s 50th-anniversary merchandise that reflects our identity, values, and vision for the future.
We are looking for designs that are:
- Bold and modern
- Legible and adaptable
- Playful yet respectful of the 50-year milestone
Core themes:
- Liberal values
- Youth energy
- Europe
- Diversity
- Future facing optimism
What to Submit
Participants must submit:
- Primary design: front and/or back of a T-shirt
- Secondary variant: a simplified version for tote bag or pin
- Concept note (max 150 words): explain your idea, symbolism, and sustainability choices
- Declaration:
- Confirm whether the official LYMEC logo is used
- Confirm compliance with LYMEC brand guidelines (if applicable)

Sustainability & Production
We strongly encourage sustainable design choices:
- Organic cotton or recycled materials
- Water-based inks or low-impact dyes
- Preference for EU-based production
Legal & Rights
By submitting, participants confirm:
- The design is original and does not infringe copyright
- Any external assets are properly licensed
Winners grant LYMEC a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to produce and sell the design worldwide for a defined period. Selected designers must provide high-resolution files and agree to production use and crediting terms.
