LYMEC has a longstanding commitment to ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for all participants, at all times. In the spirit of this mission, work has begun to draft and introduce a new Code of Conduct for the organisation. However, in order for this new Code of Conduct to be as effective as possible, we would like to invite the input of any and all people connected to LYMEC through a form, ensuring that all bases are covered.

To access the form, please ask your International Officer and/or the IMS Delegates.

This form will allow you to make initial suggestions for the new Code of Conduct, and can be filled out by anyone with any relation to LYMEC. This survey contains 3 sections.

The first draft of the Code of Conduct will also be put out for feedback to Member Organisations once this first round of suggestions has been actioned.

Timeline and Structure

Given the importance and sensitive nature of the content of any Code of Conduct, we want to work efficiently while also upholding transparency and integrity. For this, we seek to form a new Code of Conduct in three stages:

First stage:

To give everyone an equal opportunity to write their views on the Code of Conduct, we want to gather general comments and thoughts starting from a blank slate. This will be conducted via the survey, from which a first draft will be derived. This survey will be open for a minimum of 3 weeks following it's launch.

Second stage:

After the first draft is complete, a secondary round of feedback will be collected via a secondary survey. Here, everyone will get the opportunity to make any remarks on the current draft, which will then inform the writing of a second draft. Any conflicting comments will be discussed with the relevant parties. If this leads to a conflicting view of the Code of Conduct, a plenary call may be organised for the relevant parties.

Third stage:

When the standing draft is satisfactory, this draft will be presented to the Bureau for approval. After which this Code of Conduct will be submitted for approval by congress

Included in the Code of Conduct will be a regular schedule of review and revision of the document, ensuring that LYMEC members and MOs can continue to feed into the Code of Conduct as a living document at least once during each Bureau mandate (2 years).
