The Young Changemakers' Academy 2025 Kicks Off in London!

The Young Changemakers’ Academy (YCA) is a dynamic platform where young leaders from across Europe come together to develop their advocacy skills, expand their networks, and turn ideas into impactful projects. YCA provides participants with the skills, tools, and connections they need to drive meaningful change in their communities and foster political engagement. 

This year’s journey began with an inspiring weekend in London for the first event of YCA 2025: Craft your Vision – Alumni Edition. From Friday, 14 March to Sunday, 16 March, participants engaged with policy and communication experts from leading political foundations across Europe. The event provided hands-on learning sessions on personal branding, project management, and strategic communication, ensuring that young changemakers left with both the knowledge and confidence to elevate their advocacy efforts.

A key highlight of the weekend was the chance to hear from YCA Alumni, who shared how the programme has helped them advance their causes since 2018. Through interactive discussions and mentoring, alumni shared insights on how to develop advocacy messages, set clear project goals, and enhance outreach through social media and networking. Participants also learned how to create a strong personal and project brand, using communication tools to share their message effectively.

​Baroness Brinton was one of the standout speakers at the event, gripping participants with insightful perspectives. Her speech highlighted the power of grassroots advocacy and of persistence in creating meaningful change. Her real-world experience and commitment to social justice left attendees not only motivated to take their advocacy efforts to the next level but also inspired to form meaningful connections with like-minded changemakers.

Organised by the European Liberal Forum (ELF) with the support of LYMEC and other partners, the Young Changemakers’ Academy empowers young people to take an active role in key policy areas. Throughout the programme, participants will take part in three immersive in-person events, where they’ll sharpen their skills, exchange bold ideas, and build a powerful network of fellow changemakers from across Europe.
