Nominate Now: Young Liberals to Watch Award. For 50 years, the European Liberals have been shaped by people with the courage to challenge convention, champion new ideas, and drive progress in their communities and beyond. Many of the leaders, innovators, and reformers who define our societies today began as young voices with a vision for a better future.
To mark this milestone, the ALDE Party and LYMEC are launching "Young Liberals to Watch" - an initiative to recognise and celebrate a new generation of liberal talent across the European Union and beyond.
The list seeks to identify outstanding young individuals under the age of 35 whose work, leadership, and ideas are already shaping the debates and developments that will define the politics of tomorrow. We believe that political change is not driven by elected officials alone. It is equally influenced by entrepreneurs creating new opportunities, innovators transforming industries, storytellers shaping public discourse, and activists advancing social progress.
The Young Liberals to Watch list will highlight exceptional individuals in five categories:
Social Impact – individuals creating meaningful change in their communities and advancing solutions to societal challenges.
Media & Entertainment – voices shaping culture, public debate, and the way societies understand themselves and the world around them.
Business – entrepreneurs and business leaders driving economic transformation and developing ideas with lasting impact.
Politicians & Activists – emerging leaders championing liberal values, democratic participation, and political reform.
Innovation – pioneers in science, technology, and new ideas that have the potential to transform our future.
By recognising these young leaders, ALDE Party and LYMEC aim to showcase the breadth of talent within the liberal movement and to highlight the people whose work today will influence the societies and democracies of tomorrow.
We invite nominations for individuals who embody the values of openness, innovation, freedom, and progress, and who are already making a significant contribution in their respective fields.
The future of liberalism will be shaped by a new generation of leaders. Young Liberals to Watch is our opportunity to recognise them today.
Nominations are open until the end of July. After the deadline, a selection committee will review all submissions. The final list of Young Liberals to Watch will be announced in autumn 2026 with an award ceremony at the ALDE Council in Dublin.
