Voices From Ukraine #9
Ukraine & the EU: A Liberal Youth Action Plan
On 25 February 2025, we are proud to host a special Voices from Ukraine event. This forum will bring together Ukrainian voices, European policymakers, and youth leaders to discuss Ukraine’s path forward. It will serve as a platform to highlight why a just and sustainable peace must be based on Ukraine’s full territorial integrity and security.
Three years since Putin's brutal re-invasion of Ukraine, we find ourselves at yet another crucial juncture. As Ukraine continues to fight for its survival, Europe must continue its unwavering support. History has shown us the dangers of appeasement, and we must ensure that Ukraine is not abandoned to a so-called "deal" negotiated over its head.
Recent discussions between Trump and Putin have raised alarming questions about Ukraine’s future. Any proposal that excludes Ukraine and Europe from the decision-making process is not a peace deal but a betrayal of Ukraine’s sovereignty. There can be no legitimate talks about Ukraine’s future without Ukraine itself and its European allies at the table.
Our stance remains firm: Ukraine must not be forced into an unjust settlement that rewards Russian aggression. Our resolutions showcase our commitment to Ukraine, condemning Russia’s war crimes and advocating for sustained military, economic, and humanitarian aid. We will continue pushing for tougher sanctions on Russia, systematic military assistance, and closer NATO cooperation. Now more than ever, we must stand united to secure Ukraine’s long-term security and sovereignty.
Supporting Ukraine requires not just words but also action. From policy advocacy to public demonstrations, our members are actively engaged in ensuring that decision-makers feel the pressure to do what is right.
We must remember that this war determines the future of Europe’s liberal democratic foundation in the face of authoritarianism. It is crucial that we forge alliances, strengthen our resolve, and bolster Ukraine’s chances of victory against an expansionist adversary.
Let us continue to stand with Ukraine, advocating for a future where peace and sovereignty are restored, and the horrors of this war are no longer repeated.
