Prior to becoming a bureau member of LYMEC, Sorcha served as IMS delegate, International Officer of Ógra Fianna Fáil and Media Officer of Fianna Fáil Women’s Network. Sorcha spent many years as a workers’ and students’ rights activist and continues to serve on the Educational board of an Irish language organisation.
Sorcha is a graduate of Global Citizenship Education, where she researched educational policy for peace and the role of multilingualism in modern schools. She currently works in the education sector as a Primary School teacher.
Sorcha’s main political areas of experience are in cross border dialogue, education as a democratic instrument and minority language empowerment.
