Meet the candidates

President

Marten Porte

LYMEC has been a force to be reckoned with for 50 years. To keep LYMEC relevant for the next 50 years, I want to make LYMEC stronger on all three of its axes: LYMEC as a voice, where LYMEC is able to properly represent the dozens of thousands of people behind our member organisations on the European level. LYMEC as a school, where people grow into politicians who can navigate the European sphere. And lastly, LYMEC as a network,  where we build a community where we learn from each other about what works and what doesn’t. With your support, I hope to make this happen as your President.

Vice-President

Seàn Bennett

For me, the Vice President is a role focused on support. For the President, for the Bureau, for the Secretariat, and for our Members. As VP, I want to ensure that workloads are managed, safeguarding processes are strengthened, and the day-to-day running of LYMEC is kept smooth and efficient. That is the kind of VP I will strive to be.

Treasurer

Ilija Jerković

In a moment when an eroding democratic climate puts liberal values across Europe under pressure, having a sustainable and well-resourced organisation matters more than ever. With a background in fundraising and a genuine drive to further grow LYMEC activities, I want to contribute to securing our financial base, opening new partnership doors, and strengthening the resilience of our community.

Motivation letter

Letter of nomination

Tim Robinson

I am running to be Treasurer because LYMEC needs diligent and dependable financial leadership to guide us through challenging times. I can bring years of commitment within LYMEC, and deep understanding of our processes, combined with a depth of professional knowledge about finance, risk and governance from my career as a risk professional and my qualification as a Chartered Accountant.

Bureau Members

Anes Hodžić

I decided to run because I believe in turning our shared challenges into collective action. I want to open doors for every organisation to be heard, learn from one another, and grow through real cooperation. By connecting members, sharing experiences, and creating opportunities, I hope to make LYMEC a space where everyone can contribute, belong, and be inspired!

Motivation letter

Letter of nomination

Dimitra Papadopoulou

Europe’s political landscape is changing faster than ever. New generations engage differently. Digital communication reshapes power. Attention is scarce. Trust must be earned again. LYMEC must not simply adapt, we must lead. I am running for the LYMEC Bureau to make our organisation more inclusive, more strategic, and more politically influential internally and externally. Because communication is power.

Motivation letter

Letter of nomination

Estelle Jaggi

Hello everyone, I am Estelle Jaggi, Swiss delegate, book lover, and your LYMEC Bureau candidate. I will fight disinformation (key for defense and democracy), champion sustainable innovation and want to create a safe digital space for women to connect and support each other. My focus? Practical solutions for a fair, green, and resilient Europe. Let’s write the future together.

Motivation letter

Letter of nomination

Huub Hoven

I have had the privilege to already participate in many events and meet many great people. During this time, I believe I've grown a tremendous amount because of LYMEC. I want to work on bringing this to more of our members. And the best way to achieve this is by becoming member of LYMEC’s board.

Motivation letter

Letter of nomination

Martina Barrés Sabartés

I am running for the LYMEC Bureau to give back to an organisation that has shaped my political journey and to help strengthen its impact. I want to ensure our policies translate into real change, deepen cooperation across member organisations, and empower all members to actively contribute, lead, and shape a stronger, more connected liberal movement across Europe.

Motivation letter

Letter of nomination

Mikael Freitag

I am running for the LYMEC Bureau because LYMEC has played an important role in shaping my political perspective. Over the past five years, it has been a place where I have met people from across Europe, exchanged ideas and experienced how liberal cooperation across borders can strengthen our shared values.

Through my work with political communication, campaigns and organisational leadership, I have become increasingly motivated by turning ideas into action and helping organisations function better politically. I believe LYMEC has strong policies and committed member organisations, but also a significant potential to strengthen its political impact and cooperation across Europe.

For me, running for the Bureau is about taking responsibility for an organisation that has given me a lot politically, and contributing to making it more coordinated, outward-looking and effective for the years ahead.

Motivation letter

Letter of nomination

Tommy Monahan

I hope to build a more influential LYMEC by turning resolutions into action through stronger advocacy and EU engagement. I will empower member organisations with the right resources, closer collaboration, and a stronger voice, whilst promoting transparent, inclusive and member-driven leadership. Together, we can create a more connected and forward-looking LYMEC that leads change and drives real political impact.

Motivation letter

Letter of nomination

Internal Auditors

Aleks Spasava Løndal

I'm running for Internal Auditor, because I believe transparency and well-being of members are key to a well-functioning organisation. I have previously reopened a local chapter in Denmark, whereafter I sat as treasurer, which confirmed my interest in an organisational background role.

Motivation letter

Letter of nomination

Fabian Grepper

My name is Fabian Grepper, a 27-year-old history student and young professional from Switzerland. I have several years of experience in financial oversight and auditing through my work on the finance committee of my municipality and its associated district-owned entities. Alongside my longstanding engagement with LYMEC, my interests include infrastructure, environmental policy, and foreign affairs, complemented by a strong appreciation for art and culture.

Motivation letter

Pim Heymans

As a candidate for Internal Auditor, I aim to strengthen trust and transparency between the Bureau and Congress. My experience as both a Treasurer and Auditor has shown me how essential strong financial oversight is. I want to help build an organisation members can rely on, so we can focus on promoting our liberal values.
